Question about owing money to FXCM

In light of the Swiss Frank episode, I'm curious about what happens to those who owe FXCM money? Is there a payment plan? Or do they have to pay it all in one check? Or is the debts just forgiven? Maybe I'm misunderstanding or confused about what happened, but if it's all money that customers owe, then it shouldn't affect FXCM's business, it's just that FXCM can't pay up now because they just don't have the money now. That's why they need the loan, not because they debt can't be paid eventually.



I'm asking because it's a reasonable concern that it could happen to my trading account. Nothing in life is a guarantee.
