Bank of England will hold its Monetary Policy Meeting on Thursday, the 14th of January, so let's find out more. This is the Economic Calendar.
German Wholesale Price Index for December is up first at 7 AM. The Index has been declining for the past four months.
The closely watched preliminary estimate of German 2015 annual GDP follows at 9. The third quarter estimate noted domestic consumption remains the main driver of growth, and this release could show a similar trend.
Bank of England will release its high importance Monetary Policy Statement at noon GMT. There have been hints 2016 could bring a rate hike, although it probably would come no sooner than the second half of the year.
European Central Bank will publish the Minutes of its December meeting at 12:30. The meeting was a bit of a disappointment as the QE program was expanded less than expected, so the Minutes should provide some interesting insights.
The highly anticipated weekly update on US Jobless Claims comes at half past 1. Initial claims went down by 10 thousand during the week ending January 2 whereas the continuing claims grew by 25 thousand during the week ending December 26.
Canadian New Housing Price Index for November is due at the same time. The Index grew more than anticipated in October, pushed higher by strong gains in Ontario.
And Australian Home Loans for November conclude the schedule at half past midnight. Housing finance declined in October, following a strong 2% gain the previous month.
That's all for Thursday's Economic Calendar. Check back in for the next overview of news releases for Friday. Goodbye.
